Non-Schengen travellers info

Passport validity

There are several Mallorca arrival rules for non-EU and non-Schengen visitors. The passport of a traveller has to meet the following standards:

  • Being valid for at least three months and more after the period the person departs from Spain or Mallorca. Hence, remember to check the expiration date of the document.
  • The expiry date shouldn’t exceed ten years. The calculation starts from the period of passport issue.

These terms are set by the EU. Please note that there are certain exceptions, where particular airway companies require a passport with a 6-month-validity or more. Thus, don’t forget to familiarise yourself with the requirements of the particular airline you are flying with.

Visas to Mallorca

Depending on your nationality, there are different types of visa conditions for Palma de Mallorca Airport arrivals. For example, the citizens of the following states don’t need a visa for short vacations:

  • The United Kingdom;
  • The United States;
  • Canada;
  • Australia;
  • New Zealand;
  • Israel;
  • Japan, etc.

In order to find the entire register of visa-free countries, follow the European Union website. The residents of the regions mentioned above have a right to come and stay in Mallorca for up to 3 months (90 days) during the 180-day term. Despite that, you need to be sure that the duration doesn’t exceed the norm if you also go to other countries of the European Union. Thus, you can visit Mallorca or other places in the EU for not more than 90 days per 180 days in total. There are also individual Palma de Mallorca arrivals rules for business trips and prolonged stays.

Moreover, visitors need a visa to visit the island in the following cases:

  • the person wants to stay in Mallorca for more than 3 months.
  • the person is a citizen of some Schengen and EU-free country (it is not enumerated here).

In order to obtain a visa, you must apply for one at your country's Spanish legation before making an arrival in Palma de Mallorca. Finally, if you are a tourist without the right to visit the country without a visa, there are some extra regulations:

  • Have a round-trip ticket or a ticket for a future flight somewhere else.
  • Confirm your residence address on the island during your stay.
